Completed in 2014, the Grand Mosque in Abu-Gosh was built by Chechenian (Muslim) governmental support and is named after Akhmad Kadyrov .
Local tradition claims that the ancestors of the village are of Chechenian origin.
The mosque has an Ottoman design, which is the favored architectural style in Chechnya. Its four minarets are unique in Israel, and in general it is perhaps the most impressive mosque ever built in Israel.
