In 1918 the British brought Armenian pottery craftsman from Turkey to repair the Dome of the Rock.

The project was never completed.. but the Armenian artisans merged with the local Armenian population and opened several pottery workshop, although my favorite is actually an Aramean-Syriac one (Eli Kouz)..
