“May’s birth place” is a Greek-Orthodox holy place in the old city of Jerusalem, between the Lions gate and the Pools of Bethesda , arguing to be at the place where Mary, the mother of Jesus was born.
The Crusders developed a tradition that Mary was born and raised near the Pools of Bethesda . Today this site (“Saing Anne” Church) is in the possesion of the Roman Catholic church, and so “Mary’s birth place” is an alternative Greek-Orthodox site.
I was never given permission to access the cave itself.
