Located on the mouth of the Delta of the Nile, Memphis was the capital of Pharonic Egypt, until to Roman Times.
Today the site is labeled as an “Open-Air Museum”, and it’s main attraction is Saqqara , the ancient necropolis of Memphis. Saqqara bears noumerous pyramids, most famous of them is the Step Pyramid of Djoser .
