LICENSING EXAMINATION – TOUR GUIDE COURSE

Part B – Total of 70 Points

Time allotment for this section of the examination: three hours.

Choose one of the following three groups and plan a tour for it.

Group No. 1

A group of students from abroad come for a tour of biblical sites (from the Early Bronze Age to the end of the Iron Age). The tour departs from Be’er Sheva on Monday at 8:00, and ends at a hotel in Tel Aviv on Tuesday at 19:00.

Please note:

  1. The tour should not extend beyond the Be’er Sheva-Arad line (including Arad) to the south; the Shilo-Rosh HaAyin line (including Rosh HaAyin) to the north and Shilo-Arad to the east. There is no limit to the west.
  2. The program must include at least three areas from the Northern Negev, Judean Plain, Judean Mountains, Samaria and the Coastal Plain.
  3. Jerusalem should not be included in the tour.
  4. The elaborated point must be related to the tour theme.

Group No. 2

A group of tourists from the United States interested in sites related to Islamic religion and history and to sects that seceded (edot porshot) from Islam. The tour departs from a Jerusalem hotel on Monday at 08:00 and ends at Akko on Tuesday at 19:00.

Please note:

  1. The southern limit of the tour is the Jerusalem-Ramle line (including Ramle). There are no limits in other directions.
  2. The tour should include only a half  day in Jerusalem, three hours in Haifa and only one Druze site.
  3. The elaborated point must be related to the tour theme.

Day 1. – Temple Mount (Ela Aksa mosque -> Dome of the Rock -> sabil Quait Bay, chain gate and Suq el-Katanin) -> Western Wall -> Ramla (lunch in the suq;  El-Omari Mosque; White Mosque) -> Nabi Shu’ayb (pre set) -> Horns of Hattin from the bus -> O/N Haifa.

Day 2. – Machmood Mosque in Haifa -> Shrine of the Bab -> Mansion of Bahji near Akko -> lunch break in “Suq el Abiad” -> Jezzar pasha mosque in Akko -> knights halls -> Khan el-Umdan -> Along the Templars tunnel -> on the wall to the port of Akko -> Eastern walls of Akko.

Group No. 3

A group of young Christians on a tour in the footsteps of Jesus and his activity in northern Israel. The tour leaves the hotel in Tiberias on Monday at 08:00 and ends at a Nazareth hotel on Tuesday at 19:00.

Please note:

  1. The southern limit of the tour is the Bet She’an-Haifa line (not including Haifa).
  2. The tour must include a half  day in Nazareth and a half  day around Lake Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), (no more and no less).
  3. The elaborated point must be related to the tour theme and be outside Nazareth and the area around Lake Kinneret.
