Harrison Bar-Mitzvah trip, July 2019

July 12 (Fri)

jaffa private tour10:15 Arrival – WELCOME TO ISRAEL!.  A private service at the exit of the plane will help you through baggage and passport contol. We will drive into Tel-Aviv, and could have a tour of Jaffa , the Flea Market  Nahalat Binyamin Arts and Crafts Fair  , and more.

July 13 (SAT)

beth shemesh tourA late start will enable you to recover from teh jet lag, and then we head to a day tour of the “Shfelah” covering sites like Battle site of David and Goliath “Burma Road”  , the caves of Maresha  (*) and possibly crawl in Bar Kokhba caves . On the way back to Tel-Aviv we will also have a brief visit to kibbutz Na’an.

July 14 (SUN)

tel aviv tourOur last day in Tel-Aviv will enable us to complete attractions like Independence Hall  (*), a stroll on Rothschild Boulevard , the food market at Sarona , and Palmach Museum  (*).

July 15 (MON)

caesarea ampitheatreChecking out, we head up north for a few days of exploring the Galilee and the Golan Heights.

Our first stop will be ancient the ancient metropolis of Caesarea   (*), 

beth shearim catacombs

where we can also have a nice lunch at the port. We then visit Kibbutz Michmoret, and spot the Phoenician fortress which Carrie uncovered as an Archaeology student.

Later we ascend up the Carmel to learn about the Druze  minority. We end the day with a visit to the ancient Jewish Catacombs of Beth Shearim  (*).

July 16 (TUE)

ATV Jordan riverWaking up by the Sea of Galilee we enjoy breakfast and then drive up the Golan Heights  to a day full of adventures. At Mt. Bental   we view into Syrian, and then embark on a 2 hours ATV tour in the Golan Heights  (*). On our way back we will join a Kayaks  experience on the Jordan river! (*).

July 17 (WED)

safed Karo SynagogueIn the morning we complete the study of Jewish heritage in the galilee by a visit to former “Kabbalah” center at Safed / Tsfat  . We then head to Jerusalem greet it from Mount of Olives Viewpoint .

After a check in we wil have a brief afternoon tour of the Old City.

July 18 (THUR)

Bar Mitzvah Western WallToday is the big day for celebrating the “Bar-Mitzvah” at the “Azrat Israel” Section  of the Western wall  . We continue with a brunch in the Jewish Quarter  and a visit to the “Hurvah Synagogue , and then drive to “Caliber 3” for a 2 hours Live Shooting  trainning session!.

July 19 (FRI)

Camel ride sea levelOn our last day of the tour we will head down to the Dead Sea and visit the famed site of Masada  . We will later drive to the Herod’s hotel for a nice lunch at a swim at the Dead Sea  (*). We will also make sure the kids get a chance to have a short Camel ride! 🙂

Pending on time, on our way back we could review the antiquities at Ein-Gedi ancient Synagogue, and the caves where the famous “Dead Sea Scrolls” were uncovered (Qumran  ).

July 20 (SAT)

A transfer based on your time of departure will get you to the airport (*) to board your flight back home. FAREWELL!
