The Church of the Nativity of Jesus in Bethlehem marks the traditional spot where Jesus was born. Sanctified since the 4th Century CE, The Byzantine period church miraculously lasted the middle ages, and is the oldest church in holy land that is still in tact and active.
Being under Palestinian control since 1996, Israelis are not allowed to visit the site or the city. In the past Palestinian terrorists hid in the church.
