Collins Bar-Mitzvah trip, October 2019

Oct 18 (FRI)

Independence hall israel8:40 Arrival. WELCOME TO ISRAEL!.

Upon arrival we will drive into Tel-Aviv   and check in, and then enjoy the highlights of the city, such as Jaffa , the Flea Market  , the Independence Hall  and the Friday Afternoon Nahalat Binyamin Arts and Crafts Fair  .

Oct 19 (SAT)

caesarea ampitheatreEnjoying a possible morning swim at the Mediterranean sea, we later pack and head to the north for a few days. On the way we will visit the ancient city of Caesarea, and crawl in ancient Jewish Catacombs at Beth-Shearim.

We could also ascend to the Carmel and learn about the Druze  minority, where we can also have an authentic lunch.

Oct 20 (SUN)

ATV Jordan riverAn exciting day at the Golan Heights will start with a view into Syria from Mt. Bental   and then join a 2 hours ATV in the Golan Heights  experience. We could also join a chocolate workshop at De Karina Chocolatiere , and visit the “Golan Magic” Visitors Center.

If time and will permits we could also visit Gamla  or the ancient synagogue at Umm el-Kanatir .

Oct 21 (MON, Simchat Torah) 

safed Karo SynagogueTo complete our appreciation of the Jewish history in the north we visit the Rabbinical center at Safed, and then head to Jerusalem with an optional stop at Sepphoris / Zippori  famed for its mosaic floors.

Upon reaching Jerusalem we greet it from Mount of Olives Viewpoint  and introduce the city.

Oct 22 (TUE) 

Our intensive day tour to explore Biblical Jerusalem will begin at the City of David  , where we will review the possible remains of King David’s Palace  and walk along underground Warren’s shaft  , the Canaanite Tunnel  and up the Herodian Drainage Channel , to the Southern Wall Archaeological Park   and Davidson Center .

After a lunch break we will continue to explore the Jewish Quarter  and possibly also the Christian Quarter  and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre  .

Oct 23 (WED)

camel ride dead seaOur last day of the tour will be devoted to the region of the Dead Sea. Passing by the “Sea level” sign we could enjoy a short Camel ride :-), and via cable car we will reach the top of famous Masada  

We will then go for a nice lunch and swim at the Dead Sea  experience at the a local hotel.  On our way back we will view the oasis of Ein Gedi  as well as the caves where the “Dead Sea Scrolls” were uncovered.

Oct 24 (THUR) 

Bar Mitzvah Western WallA day reserved for celebrating the Bar-Mitzvah, including Torah Reading. In the evening you could also join the Tower of David Night Spectacular .
