Derrick Tour plan

Oct 30 (WED) 

western wallOur first day will start with a meeting at 9:00 at Truman instisute at the Hebrew University. After the meeting we will drive to the famous Mount of Olives Viewpoint  and then head into the Old city of Jerusalem and review is main highlights: Church of the Holy Sepulchre   and the Christian Quarter , the local market (Suq ), the Jewish Quarter , the Cardo , the Broad Wall , the Hurvah Synagogue  and of course – the Western wall  .

Oct 31 (THUR) 

yad vashem tourThe morning will start with a visit to the National institute devoted to the Jewish Holocaust – “Yad Vashem”  Later we will to the Supreme Court Building  to join the 12:00 tour in English.

tour to the Israel MuseumFor lunch we will head into Mahane Yehudah Market  , and later drive along Mea Shearim  and next to the Parlaiment building Knesset , and end the day with a tour of the highlights of the Israel Museum  :  the“Shrine of the Book” Model of the Second Temple Jewish Art and Life Wing ;  Archaeological Wing ; and the Art Wing .

Nov 1 (FRI)

dead sea scrollsHeading to the lowest dry place in the world, after we pass the Sea level sign we will see Jericho  and the Baptism site (qasr el-Yahud)  in the distance, and stop to view the caves where the famous Dead Sea Scrolls were found (Qumran  ).

Private tour to MasadaNext we will pass by the oassis of Ein Gedi , and possibly spot some local Ibex. The main focus will be on the mgnificant site of Masada  , famed for its dramatic and trajic history. After appreciating the site we head to the  one of the hotels for lunch + spa + swim at the Dead Sea experience.

Nov 2 (SAT) 

beit shean nympheaumMeeting Edan, you will check out and head to the north for a few days. The main destination will be Beit She’an  where you will explore the rich remains of this once great city, till its collapse by a devestating earth quake in 749 CE.

Later you will continue to the enigmatic mosaic floor of the ancient synagogue at Beth Alpha , and upon reaching Degania  will visit its visitors center, as well as the Syrian tank stopped at the gates of the kibbutz in 1948.

Nov 3 (SUN) 

golan heights tourA day tour to the Golan Heights  will include a visit to Mt. Bental  , and the 1973 battle site (“Valley of Tears” ).

At 11:30 you will join a Jeep tour along the border with Syria, an optional lunch in a Druze village, and a visit to one of the local wineries the Golan heights are known for. Cheers!

Nov 4 (MON)

Checking out and heading to Tel-Aviv, you could visit the ancient synagogue Hamat Tiberias  and/or Capernaum  .

safed Karo SynagogueLater reach the old city Safed / Tsfat  , former center of Jewish Kabbalah. 

On the way to Tel-Aviv we will make also a stop Caesarea   and enjoy its new visitors center, as well as the remains of its ancient Port.

Nov 5 (TUE)

jaffa private tourThe last day will be devoted to full appreciation of the modern and vibrant city of Tel-Aviv . We will have a drive through ancient Jaffa , and Neve Tzedek , and then head to Rothschild Boulevard  where we will see the significant historical site where the state of Israel was declated (Independence Hall ).

Nearby we could also visit a local hedge fund company to present to you the special and succesfull “start up” scene of Israeli High Tech. After a lunch break we could continue to the “Carmel” market, and end the day with a visit to Rabin Assassination site .
