Abu Al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque

Abu Al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque is the biggest mosque in Alexandria and one of the most impressive mosque structures in the world.

Built originally in 1775 over the tomb of Abu Al-Abbas al-Mursi, A Sufi Saint from the 13th Century CE, its current form was designed by two Italian architects, and completed in 1945.  The design is highly influenced by old Cairo’s buildings and architecture.
