Eight Days Tour for American Forces Group

DAY 1 (Tue)

Welcome to Israel!. Upon arrival and after collecting the luggage, we will drive straight to the view point of Jeruaslem from the  Mount of Olives Viewpoint .

Appreciating the City’s view, history, and complexity, we will head to the hotel for check-in and dinner.

In the evening there will be an optional tour of the Tower of David Night Spectacular .

DAY 2 (WED)

We start the day “Where it all began” – in the City of David  . We asses possible remains of King David’s Palace , and then head into Warren’s shaft  , and walk along Hezekiah’s Tunnel   to the Pool of Siloam  .

We then continue via the Herodian Drainage Channel  to the Western wall  .

After a lunch break in the Jewish Quarter  we continue to along the Via Dolorosa  to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre  , the place where Christian tradition locates the site of the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth.

If time and will permits, we will also visit the possible alternative site of the crucifixion of Jesus – the Garden Tomb .

DAY 3 (THU)

olive treesPaying tribute to the holocaust of the Jewish people, we start with a guided tour of “Yad Vashem” .

We then continue Kibbutz Ramat Rachel, and after a lunch break we have a view towards the Judean Desert and Bethlehem  from Olives Columns environmental sculpture .

We end the day with a visit to possible site of the “Last Supper” (Cenacle ) and other sites on Mount Zion .

DAY 4 (FRI)

masada cable carThis day is deovted to experiencing the lowest area in the world – the Dead Sea .

First we drive to Masada , where we learn about a dramatic battle of the Romans against Jewish rebels some 2000 years ago.

For lunch we go to Kibbutz Ein Gedi , and we end with a float on the Dead Sea .

At the end of the day we drive to Tel-Aviv.

DAY 5 (SAT)

tel-avivBeing Sabbath, today is a free day in Tel-Aviv.

Those wishing for some activity can go swimming in the Mediterranean, tour Jaffa , or possibly join a Segway tour  on Tel-Aviv.

In the evening it is recommended to stroll and dine on Rothschild Boulevard  or at the Flea Market  .

Day 6 (SUN)

caesarea bathouseHeading north, the morning will be devoted to exploring ancient Caesarea  . Metropolitan capital in  Roman times, Caesarea presents a wealth of finds that also illuminate the spread of ancient Christianity.

We then drive up to the Carmel mountains and have a lunch break in a Druze  village, where we also learn about this unique minority and its long term loyal ties with the State of Israel.

We end the day with a visit of the Church of Annunciation  and Mary’s Well  in Nazareth .

Day 7 (MON)

hermon from bentalAscending to a beautiful yet conflicted region, we reach the top of Mt. Bental  , view into Syria, and have a review of current affairs with Syria by a former colonel of the IDF.

We continue to the “Golan Magic” Visitors Center  in Katsrin, and after a lunch break drive to the border with Lebanon and learn about the history of the conflict with the Hizballah.

If time permits, we can also visit a local winery.

Day 8 (Tue)

baptism at yardenitOn our last day we will visit major site for Christian history Capernaum , and have a possible visit to the Baptism site of Yardenit  before heading to the airport for departure.
