March 30, Monday
Good Morning Jerusalem!
Enjoying the hotel’s breakfast we start around 10:00 and walk into the old city from Jaffa Gate . We visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre
which by Christian tradition is the crucifixion site of Jesus, and walk parts of the Via Dolorosa
.
After a light hummus lunch break we continue to the City of David
– “Where it all began”!: We watch a 3D movie at the visitors center, and then explore the water system of Biblical Jerusalem
by walking through the 533 m wet and dark “Hezekiah’s Tunnel”
, all the way to the Pool of Siloam
. We can also walk along the newly opened Herodian drainage channel
, which ends right in front of the Western Wall
, after which we return to the hotel.
* modest cloths are needed for visiting the the Holy Sepulchre.
* Sandals and flash lights are needed for walking along Hezekiah’s tunnel.

March 31, Tuesday
Down to the Dead Sea
Departing from Jerusalem, the landscape changes quickly, as we descend to the lowest place in the world (!).
Passing by the “Sea Level” sign and by Jericho, we head first to Masada .
Masada was built by King Herod, but is better known for the last stand of the Jews at the end of the Great Jewish Revolt (66-70 CE).
The dramatic story is enhanced by rich archaeological remains and a well planned visitors center.
In nearby Ein Gedi we can have lunch and then stroll in the beautiful botanical gardens
of the kibbutz. We can then head to Ein-Gedi’s Nature Reserve
, and can either hike and swim in Nahal David.
On the way back we stop and visit the site of Qumran , famous for the Dead Sea Scrolls, and ofcourse have a floating experience at the Dead Sea.

A free day in Jerusalem, which you can use to explore the Old City

, the Israel Museum
, “Yad Vashem”
, and other attractions.

April 2nd, Thursday
A day of Archaeology and adeventures. We start with a drive to Herodium
, famous site for the 2007 discovery of the tomb of King Herod.
Next, we continue to Live Shooting in an anti terror shooting range. For lunch we can return to Jerusalem and dine in Mahane Yehudah Market
after which we can have a stroll in the market and in Mea Sheaim
.
