On November 28th the IMPH class is invited to join me in a tour of Jaffa and Tel-Aviv.
We start the day at Rothschild Boulevard , the historical avenue from the time of the foundation of Tel-Aviv . We introcude the early history of Tel-Aviv at the Shalom Meir Tower Visitors Center , and at 10:00 we join the tour at the “Independence hall” , the significant site where in 1948 the state of Israel was declared.
Next we advance to old Jaffa , a continuously inhabited site since Canaanite times (more then 4000 years old!).
We first appreciate “floating orange tree” sculpture, and then make our way between sandstone built houses from Ottoman times towards the the traditional site of the “vision of Peter” at the House of Simon the Tanner (Acts 10).
After a visit to the port, a short walk will take us to the nearby Flea Market where we can also have a lunch break.
If the wether will permit, we will then head to the beach for some swimming (bring bathing suites!).
At the end of the day, on the way back, we will visit Rabin Assasination site .
