“Cardo” was the name given to a Byzantine period avenue discovered in the Jewish quarter in the 1970’s, assuming this was its generic name in ancient times.
In 2010 a colorfull mural was added at the side of the Cardo, presenting with some humor Jerusalem in Roman-Byzantine times. In 2018 a set of mosaic walls were also added to the display along the street.
