“Kitchener’s Island”, known also as “Alnabatat Island”, is a small, oval-shaped island at Aswan.
It was gifted to Lord Kitchener when he served as a general-Consul of Egypt (1911-1914).
He desigend a botanical garden on the island, with various exotic plants and trees, many of which were imported from India.
Later it became a Botanical research center by the Egyptian government, as well as tourist attraction.
