The temple of Kom Ombo is an unusuall double temple created in the Ptolemaic period (2nd-1st century BCE), with additions added in the Roman period.
It was dedicated to the aligator god Sobek, and the Falcon god Haroeris.
A few of the 300 crocodile mummies found in the vicinity are displayed in the nearby Crocodile Musuem.
