Middle East BIG Tour!

Following a succesfull cooperation with an agent in Jordan and in Egypt (Isn’t great we made peace! 🙂 ), I can also offer a special BIG tour of Israel, the West Bank, Jordan and Egypt!

Here is an outline of the itinerary –

Day 1 – Mount of Olives

Landing at Tel-Aviv airport, WELCOME TO ISRAEL!.

Upon arrival we will head to to Jerusalem. If time permits, we will visit the Mount of Olives Viewpoint , as well as the Chapel of the Ascension  and the Garden of Gethsemane .

Day 2 – Jerusalem

Our first day in the “Holy Land” will be devoted to an expoloration of the old city of Jerusalem and its vicinity. We will start with a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre  , and continue along parts of the “Stations of the Cross” (Via Dolorosa ) in the Christian Quarter 

We then continue to the Jewish Quarter , and Mount Zion  sites, and end at the Western wall  .

Day 3 – Bethlehem

This day is devoted to a sample of the sites in the West Bank. We start with a visit to the Church of Nativity   in Bethlehem , as well as the Shepherds’ Field , and continue to the Herodian fortress at Herodium  .

After lunch we drive down to the city of Jericho , assesing possible finds relating to the conquest of the city bu Joshuah (Joshua 6).

Day 4 – Dead Sea

Today we head to the lowest dry place in the world – the Dead Sea!. We pass by the site where the Famous Dead Sea Scrolls were found (Qumran  ) as well as the oasis of Ein Gedi , and ascend by cable car to the top of famed Masada  .

After a lunch break we go for a unique floating and black mud experience at the Dead Sea .

Day 5 – Haifa and Akko

Checking out and heading north, we visit the impressive ruins of Roman Metropolis of Caesarea  , the Bahaian Terraced Gardens  in Haifa , and the former capital of the Crusaders at Akko

Day  6 – Golan Heights

Combining an appreciation of the northern beauty of Israel and its geo-politics we ascend to the top of Mt. Bental   on the Golan Heights , and view into Syria. 

We could also go for an ATV tour along the Syrian Border , as well as visit one of the local wineries in the region. 

After lunch we visit Gamla , a Jewish stronghold against the Romans, some 2000 years ago.

Day 7 – Sea of Galilee

On our last day in the north we could explore Holy Christian sites around the Sea of Galilee, such as Capernaum Church of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes Mount of Beatitudes , and Magdala , and then drive to Nazareth   to visit the Church of Annunciation  and S. Joseph Church 

In the evening you can have an optional tour of Jaffa  and dine in one of the many restaurants of Tel-Aviv .

Day 8 – Eilat

A morning transfer to the airport will enable you to fly above Jerusalem and the Dead Sea down to Eilat  , where you could have an experience of Scuba Diving at the Red Sea  . In the evening you can also enjoy the night life of the city.

Day 9 – Wadi Rum

Crossing the border in the morning, a representative of “Jordan Inspiration Tours” will be waiting for you, and take you to a short tour of Aqaba , and then head up to Wadi Rum  for an authentic Bedouin Lunch , followed by a Jeep Tour  or by ATV  in the unique and majestic landscape of  Wadi Rum .

Day 10 – Petra

Most of today will be devoted to exploring the great ancient city carved in rock – Petra . It will include a hike along the “Siq” to the “Treasury” and the city, and an optional hike to Ad Deir .

In the Afternoon we head up north. If time and will permits we can visit Little Petra Shobak Lot’s Cave , or Bab Edh-Dhra / Sodom and Gomorrah sites, spending the night in Ma’in Hot Springs .

Day 11 – Madaba

A 30 minutes drive will get us to Madaba  where we can sample some of the ancient mosaic floors, and especially the famous “Madaba Map” mosaic floor.

We will then drive to a view of the “Promised Land” from Mount Nebo , and if time and will permits visit also the Acropolis and the main archaeological musuem at Amman .

Day 12 – Cairo

A morning flight from Amman to Cairo , will get to the capital of Egypt, where a representative of “Egypt Tailor Made Tours” will meet you and take you straight to the The Egyptian Museum , to appreciate its vast display of Pharonic antiquities, and especially the treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun .

Later you can continue and drive into some of the local markets of the city, such as “el Moez” / Muizz Street  and Khan el-Khalili  bazaar.

Day 13 – Saqqara

Our second day in Egypt begins with a  visit to the famous Pyramids of Giza  and the Great Sphinx of Giza .

We then continue to Memphis , ancient Capital of Egypt, and visit Mit Rahina Museum, including the Colossus of Ramses II, and the Alabaster Sphinx 

We can also visit the new Imhotep Museum , but most famous is Saqqara  Necropolis, which bears, among others, the Step Pyramid , the Unas Pyramid Teti Pyramid , and Saqqara Serapeum .

Day 14 – Coptic Cairo

The last day of touring Cairo will begin with a visit to historical Saladin’s Citadel , and the nearby Coptic Cave Church / Simon the Tanner Monastery .

We can also have a stroll in Al-Azahar Park , as well as the unique “City of the Dead” / Cairo cemetery .

At the end of the day we head to Alexandria  (4 hours drive).

Day 15 – Alexandria

Waking up in Alexandria  we have a full day to explore its main arttactions, namel Pompey’s Pillar , the Kom el-Shoqafa Catacombs  and Kom El-Dikka .

We can also visit the new and impressive Library of Alexandria (Bibliotheca Alexandrina) , and its nearby Abu Al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque , and Citadel of Qaitbay .

If time and will permits, we can also drive to see Montaza Palace  and Stanley Bridge .

Day 16 – Fairwell

4 hours drive to Cairo Airport for Departure. FAIRWELL!
