The new visitors center opened in Caesarea in 2019 is in three of the original Herodian era halls that supported the “Augusteum” inside the ancient port. At the first hall a presentation of potter shards demostrate the history of the city, which is then visualized by a computer generated graphic virtual presentation.
In the second hall a 15 minutes movie presents Heord’s political intrigues mixed with his vision of building the city of Caesarea.
In the third hall a rich presentation of various artifacts from different periods demonstrates the long and rich hisotry of this unique ancient city.
