Set in the Samaria mountains, about 10 miles east of Ramallah, Taybeh is an Arab Christian village administrated by the Palestinian Authority. It is identified with the biblical site of Ophrah (Joshua 18:23). Some suggest that it should also be identified with Ephraim, where Jesus dwelt for a while (John 11:53-54). Remains of a Byzantine period church are still visible at the eastern edge of the village. Today, Taybeh is known for its Brewery and its Beer festival, celebrated each October.
A visit to the site can be combined with a tour of the West Bank.
