“Timna” is the name given to a valley on the western side of the Aravah, some 30 km north of Eilat. It is known for its geological diverse display, as well as substuntial evidence for quarrying copper in ancient times. In the year 2000 a Tabernacle Replica was built near the visitors center, and can be viewed in a guided tour.
A premanent exhibition in the Eretz-Israel museum in Tel-Aviv is devoted to the discoveries made at Timna. They include many of the artifacts uncovered in Timna’s excavations, and a reconstruction of the Midianite-Egyptian temple.
