LICENSING EXAMINATION – TOUR GUIDE COURSE
Part B – Total of 70 Points
Time allotment for this section of the examination: Three hours.
Choose one of the following three groups and plan a tour for it.
Group No. 1
A group of Israeli students is interested in the history of the Land of Israel from the 19th century till today. The tour departs from Tel-Aviv on Monday at 8:00 AM and ends in the Kibbutz Ein Gedi Guest House on Tuesday at 19:00.
Please note:
- The tour will focus on: Tel-Aviv, the route you choose to travel to Jerusalem, Jerusalem and the Northern part of the Judean Desert till Ein Gedi (inclusive).
- The tour must include a half day in Tel-Aviv and a half day in Jerusalem (no more and no less).
- The tour must include at least one site from the following periods: the 19th century, the British Mandate, the War of Independence and a site from the period after the establishment of the State of Israel.
- The elaborated point must take place at a site connected to the historical periods that the tour deals with. Do not choose an elaborated point in Jerusalem or Tel-Aviv.
Group No. 2
A group of students from abroad is interested in a tour in the North of the country visiting sites from the Second Temple, Roman and Byzantine periods. The tour will start in Haifa on Monday at 08:00 and end in Katzrin on Tuesday at 19:00.
Please note:
- The area of the tour and its geographical limits/boundaries: North of the Haifa–Beit Shean line.
- The tour must include at least two sites from the Second Temple period and two sites from the Byzantine period.
- The tour must include at least one site from each of the following geographic areas: The Kinnarot Valley, the Beit-Shean Valley, the Lower Galilee, the Upper Galilee and the Golan Heights.
- The elaborated point must be related to the subject of the tour.
Group No. 3
A group of tourists from the United States wishes to tour in the South of the country. The tour will depart from Beersheba on Monday at 08:00 and end in the airport at Uvda on Tuesday at 19:00.
Please note:
- The area of the tour and its geographical limits/boundaries: South of the Kerem Shalom–Beersheba–Arava Junction line (includes Kerem Shalom and Beersheba). Eilat should not be included in the itinerary.
- The tour must include a half day tour in Beersheba, two archaeological sites from different periods, two sites related to accomplishments of the State of Israel and two nature sites.
- The elaborated point must be related to the subject of the tour.
