LICENSING EXAMINATION – TOUR GUIDE COURSE

Part B – Total of 70 Points

Time allotted for this section of the examination: three hours.

Choose one of the following three groups and plan a tour for it.

Group No. 1

A group of Israeli hikers is interested in a tour in order to get acquainted with the RomanByzantine period (70-638 CE). The tour will take place on the days Monday and Tuesday

between 8:00 and 19:00 each day.

Please note:

  1. The tour must include a variety of sites and subjects from three different geographical

areas.

  1. You must include at least three sites from the Roman period and at least three sites from

the Byzantine period.

  1. The tour must include half a day in Jerusalem (no less and no more).
  2. The elaborated point must be related to the tour theme, and must not be in Jerusalem.

Group No. 2

A group of tourists from the United States, aged between 20-40, is interested in a tour

introducing them to the desert in the Land of Israel. The tour will take place on the days

Monday and Tuesday between 8:00 and 19:00 each day.

Please note:

  1. You must address geological, geomorphological, and climatic aspects, as well as

addressing nature, history, religions, and man in the desert.

  1. A half-day hike (no more and no less) should be included in the course of these two days,

with emphasis on nature.

  1. You can tour the Judean Desert, or the Negev Desert, or both.
  2. The elaborated point must concern a site related to one or two of the aforementioned

aspects.

Group No. 3

A group of students from Europe is interested in a tour along the coastal plain of Israel. The

tour will take place on the days Monday and Tuesday between 8:00 and 19:00 each day.

Please note:

  1. The tour area is West to Road no. 4, between Rosh HaNikra (included) and the Gaza

Strip.

  1. You must include in the itinerary at least one site related to Judaism, one site related to

Christianity and one site related to Islam.

  1. The elaborated point must be related to a Christian site.
