Meeting in Tel Aviv, your tour begins in Jaffa, one of the world’s oldest ports, where stories of Jonah, Peter, and centuries of traders come alive. Walk its narrow alleys, enjoy the seafront, and feel the blend of ancient and modern. Continue through Tel Aviv, Israel’s bustling cultural capital, where Bauhaus architecture and vibrant boulevards highlight the city’s modern energy. Driving north, explore Caesarea, the grand Roman city built by Herod the Great, where a theater, aqueduct, and hippodrome recall imperial splendor. Continue to Nazareth, where the angel Gabriel announced to Mary, and to Cana, remembered as the site of Jesus’s first miracle of turning water into wine.
Begin at Capernaum, called the “Town of Jesus,” where remains of a synagogue and Peter’s home reveal the heart of his ministry. Above it stands the Mount of Beatitudes, the traditional setting of the Sermon on the Mount, with views of the Sea of Galilee. Continue to the Sea of Galilee Boat, an ancient fishing vessel dating to the time of Jesus, followed by an optional boat ride that brings the Gospel stories to life upon the waters themselves. Next, visit Magdala, home of Mary Magdalene, where a rare first-century synagogue was uncovered. End the day at Megiddo, the biblical Armageddon, where layers of history and sweeping views connect prophecy and archaeology.
Enter Jerusalem’s Old City and walk along the Via Dolorosa, retracing the steps of Jesus to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the traditional site of the crucifixion and resurrection. Next, visit the Western Wall, where pilgrims have prayed for centuries, and continue into the Jewish Quarter, known for its markets, synagogues, and lively squares. On Mount Zion, visit important landmarks linked to King David and the Last Supper. Finally, cross the valley to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed before his arrest, and conclude with the sweeping panorama from the Mount of Olives Viewpoint, overlooking the golden city below.
Travel east into the Judean Desert, possibly stopping for a short camel ride at sea level, a fun and memorable desert encounter. Continue to the Dead Sea Scrolls Caves Viewpoint, overlooking the site where the ancient biblical manuscripts were hidden for centuries. Next, drive through Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, the desert oasis where David sought refuge from Saul. Reaching Masada, ascend to its top by cable car, and explore Herod’s desert palace and the last stronghold of Jewish rebels against Rome. End with a swim in the Dead Sea, floating in its mineral-rich waters and enjoying a unique natural wonder.
