Located along the Eilat mountains, 10 miles Northeast of the Red Sea, the Red Canyon is one of the most beautiful hikes in southern Israel. The hidden gorge got its name from the reddish sandstone exposed by water erosion. The result is a spectacular narrow pass amidst beautifully carved red walls, with plenty of photogenic moments. The hike is about an hour and a half and is suitable for all ages. It includes using metal bars, ladders and footholds at some parts, and not recommended for anyone fearing heights.
