“The Shepherds’ Fields” is the name given to a site in a valley east of Bethlehem, within the Arab village of Beit Sahur.
By Ctholic tradition, this is the site where Shepherds heard of the birth of Jesus, and came to adore him (Luke 2:8-20).
Italian architect Barluzzi desgined a tent shaped chapel at the site in the 1950’s.
The Greek-Orthodox claim the site to be elsewhere, although still in the vicinity of Beit Sahur.

The “Shepherds’ Filed” site is in the Bethlehem which is under the control of the Palestinian Authority, which means only a Palestinian (or an Israeli Arab) guide can guide you at that site.
