Helicopter Tour to the Golan Heights

Helicopter Tour to the Golan Heights

A day tour of the Golan Heights is one of the most exciting tour experiences in Israel, yet reaching it from the center can be up to a 3 hours’ drive. However, by helicopter, we will reach the Syrian Border within 50 minutes!, not to mention the amazing views on the way!. So let’s strap up, put on the headset – and prepare for takeoff!

Embarking from Tel-Aviv area, we will first fly above the beautiful coastline of the Mediterranean. After passing Caesarea, we will head inland to cross the Galilee. Below, you will see some of the biggest Arab cities in Israel, with new and large-sized mosques at their hilltops. Next, the mound of Megiddo marks the plains of Armageddon, site of the final battle according to the Apocalypse. At its northern end, the city of Nazareth will be seen in the distance. We will fly above Mt. Tabor, whose top holds the large-sized church of the Transfiguration. Next the Sea of Galilee will appear on your right, and the Golan Heights at its eastern end.

Off-Road tour along the Syrian Border

Landing near the border with Syria, a local expert guide will lead you in his off-road vehicle along the purple line, introducing the special geo-politics of this region. You will learn about the 1967 and 1973 battles, spotting some of the tanks left in the field to this day. For lunch we will go to a Druze village where we will have a special lunch and hospitality experience, and possibly combine it with a cooking workshop

Chocolate making and wine tasting

After lunch we can continue to a local chocolatier where the whole family can join in making some chocolate delights, and/or combine it with a visit to a local winery. After trying out some of the finest wines, we are ready to fly back!

Fly above the Sea of Galilee

Taking off, the helicopter will now fly us low above the rapids of the Jordan River, following it’s meanders into the Sea of Galilee. Next, we will fly above significant Holy Christian sites like Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes, and Magdala. After an elegant leap above the cliffs of Arbel, we head back to Tel-Aviv via Megiddo / Armageddon.

Did you Know?

The Golan Heights were formed by volcanic eruptions nearly a million of years ago. Today, the volcanos’ summits provide the best viewpoints of the region.
