>  Places to visit in Jerusalem   >  Tower of David Night Spectacular

During the day Jerusalem’s medieval Citadel is a museum. However, on summer nights, the Citadel’s inner walls become the stage for a breathtaking audio-visual show of the history Jerusalem  – the Night Spectacular. And it is indeed a feast for the eyes! Intertwined with the archaeological finds spread within the citadel, the 45 minutes night spectacular uses trompe l’oeil technology. The stones of the walls merge with the scenes, as historical figures and events unfolds the City’s turbulent history. Original orchestral soundtrack enhances the presentation, forming a multi-sensory experience.

20 Projectors and 10 video players project the master show processed by 14 computers. The plot is politically neutral, sampling the turbulent history of Jerusalem, from the time of the Canaanites down almost to present day.

The Tower of David night spectacular is the first of its kind in the world. It is a beautiful celebration of sounds and dynamic images. It is children friendly, yet very entertaining and appreciated by adults as well.

The Tower of David Night Spectacular can be a great evening activity following a Day tour of Jerusalem. Both cover many sites, subjects and figures, that shaped Jereualem history and identity.
