Located next to S. Gabriel church in Nazareth, “Mary’s well” was a local water source for the reseidents of Nazarth in the Middle ages and up to modern times. By local tradition, it is (also) the place where angel Gabriel appeared to Mary.
Not really a well, not really the original spring water, and not really drinkable (by modern standarts, but you can try..), not always clean, and doesn’t fit the narrative of the Gospels.. I guess you could say the site doesn’t really “hold water” :-). Yet still a point of interest in Nazareth. Demonstrates well local geo-religious-politics.
