Perched on a hill over Jaffa’s old port, the Greek-Orthodox church of Archangel Michael is about 500 years old, the oldest church in Jaffa. It used to include an inn for eastern Orthodox pilgrims upon arriving at the Holy Land at Jaffa port. Today, the church serves a small local community and is open on Saturday and Sunday for services. Its interior is highly ornate and designed in the traditional fashion of Greek-Orthodox churches. Its eastern wall is noteworthy for being decorated with a giant mural depicting the Holy Land in Greek-Byzantine style.
