The Gihon Spring is one of the biggest springs in the Juden Mountains. Located along the Kidron valley, just outside the old city of Jerusalem, yet was once the main reason Jerusalem was ever settled.
Providing a critcial water supply in Canaanite and Israelite times, its water was used to wash off the ointment of King Solomon, and later its water was channeled into Hezekiah’s Tunnel, which to this day feeds the Pool of Siloam.
