Ilana Goor Museum
Ilana Goor is a veteran Israeli-born artist, known for her bronze sculptures as well as functional art – furniture, leather goods, belts, and more. A master of multidisciplinary art, Goor was the first women to exhibit at California’s Museum of Science and Industry in 1972. In 1995 Goor purchased an 18th century structure in that heart of Old Jaffa that was once a Jewish inn. With much effort, she transformed it into 3 story display of her vast art collection, as well as her home.
Touring Ilana Goor Museum
Ilana Goor’s home and museum is located along Mazal Dagim cobbled street, opposite Ben Zion Yemenite Art Workshop. It is open every day of the week, and occasionally operates cultural events. Her art collection combines different modern artworks, as well as antiquities, and a collection of African Art. The Museum’s rooftop provides breathtaking panoramas of Old Jaffa and the Mediterranean coastline. A giftshop at the basement level offers an opportunity to purchase some of Goor’s artworks.
A tour of Ilana Goor’s house and museum can be combined with a guided day tour to Jaffa and Tel-Aviv.
