Nahal El Al
El Al Stream (in Hebrew: Nahal El Al) is a famous nature reserve in the southern part of the Golan Heights. The perennial El Al spring water carved its way through the black basalt rock; at some points, it even exposed the lower layers of white limestone. Forming a waterfall at its terrain type, they are known as the “black waterfall” and the “white waterfall.” A hike along the water stream is a popular family activity, especially in the summer. Natural pools form a perfect stop for a refreshing swim and a coffee break at several points. The hike is about 4 miles long and takes about 3 to 4 hours.
A hike along Nahal El Al can be combined with a multi-da ay tour in Israel, including exploring the Golan Heights.
