Known as the Bursa, the diamonds exchange center near Tel-Aviv has 15,000 members and generates an annual export of $7 billion worth of diamonds. Although no diamonds were ever found in the Promised Land, Israel is the world’s largest diamond trading complex.
Tour of Tel-Aviv’s Diamonds Exchange Center
A tour of this highly secured site requires pre-registration and following a strict security protocol. Led by one of the Bursa members, the tour unfolds the process of cutting, evaluating, and trading these precious stones. The tour included a view of the trading floor, where the valuable diamonds change hands daily with a handshake. It can also include an opportunity to purchase diamonds and jewelry at their wholesale value.
A site tour can be combined with a guided day tour of Jaffa and Tel Aviv.
